Infrastructural Facilities Back

After the MAPMC market was completely commissioned in the eighties, the managing committee has focused on improving the infrastructural facilities. The market today boasts of a fully functional cold storage, artificial ripening chambers, an Export Facilitation Centre, 4 Auction Houses, Hand Held terminals for Weighment, Website support and a Vapour heat treatment plant. The committee has embarked on two ambitious programmes to be completed in the next year - the first will computerize the entire process of regulation from the entry of the goods to the market fee collection and the second will enable MAPMC to get an ISO 9000 certification. The committee is very particular in maintaining strict levels of hygiene and quality within all the markets, and regular training programmes are being conducted to instill a sense of responsibility towards hygiene and quality in all the traders. Consistent Grading and good quality packaging of the produce are two other aspects, which are looked upon with utmost care.
